My kidneys have failed. I been living with diabetes for 14 years, my kidneys no longer function. The reason why I'm telling you my story today to ask for your help. Living with diabetes been rough with restricted diets, frequent doctor's appointments. Adding kidney failure to the mix has change my life and health.
I know do Peritoneal Dialysis everynight for 9 hours. I have a machine that I set up and attach myself to, that does the work for me. That my kidneys no longer can do. The machine does it job well I'm sleeping. When I wake up in the morning my treatment is completed and it leaves my body felling weak. I'm limited to certain activities and to travel. I wish I more time and energy to spend with my family and friends.
I need a kidney transplant. The average wait time is for a kidney transplant is 3-10 years. I know there is a lot to consider and questions to be answered.
