Living Kidney Donor Needed

Hello,
This story is about my sister Destiny Edmonds, and I am hoping to find a kidney donor for her. My sister is 23 years old and has survived a traumatic brain injury days after her birth. She will never be able to take care of herself or live on her own. I am her sister and legal guardian. I am desperate to find my sister a kidney so that she can have somewhat of a normal life. She survived once and I know she will survive this next battle of her life too. Destiny has had polycystic kidney disease all her life. Unfortunately, over time her kidney disease has continued to progress to the extent that she will need a kidney transplant.

Her kidney function is at 6% (as of 09/16/2025) and will be starting dialysis soon. This makes it where Destiny will miss school 2 to 3 times a week. She currently attends a school that works on life skills and helps students gain work skills. They do a lot of community-based instruction and are out practicing how to shop for food, how to order at restaurants, how to clean, how to count money, and so much more. School and friends are Destiny’s entire life. Not going here will shake up Destiny’s world like no other.

I, as her caretaker, also have 4 children to take care of. I am trying to juggle and balance this crazy and beautiful life. A transplant would transform more than one person’s life. It would transform the life of everyone involved who wishes to see Destiny thrive.

Destiny is on the waiting list for a kidney, however that can often take years to get a match. I am hoping to find a living donor because I am told that is the best option. Destiny is so young and has so much more life to live. I don’t want to see her tired and glued to a chair indefinitely We all would be eternally grateful if you could help us find Destiny a match by getting tested or sharing this information with your own network of friends, family and community.
