Gregory Mazzoni Needs A LIVING Kidney DONOR
I had a notion
There was somethin' more to do
As I watched the water
From the banks of the river
It swelled and grew
I've known Gregg for over twenty years. We enjoy sharing music and talking about all of the ways that music has influenced our lives. I can say that through this love of music, that he has influenced my appreciation and understanding of the intricacies of this art. I'd like to think that I've been able to shape some of his music appreciation as well.
I've always viewed Gregg as indestructible. Through this journey that he is now on, I've seen a different side. While Gregg keeps a positive attitude and outlook, you can hear it in his voice when he talks about the reality that he is now facing. A transplant would give Gregg the gift of time to be there for his family and to continue sharing his positive energy to those who love him.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my friend Gregg. I am asking everyone who sees this to help spread the word . Through the positive power of social media, we can spread this message and find a living donor. I hope that you will share this story - let's see how many people we can reach!

Share the Importance of Living Donation
There are currently 120,000 people waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant in the U.S. Of these, 100,000 await kidney transplants.
The median wait time for a kidney transplant is 3-5 years and can vary depending on health, compatibility, and where you live.
In 2014, 17,107 kidney transplants took place in the U.S. Of these, 11,570 came from deceased donors and 5,537 came from living donors.
Every 14 minutes someone is added to the kidney transplant waitlist.
A kidney from a living donor lasts longer and begins functioning more quickly than a kidney from a deceased donor.
In 1995, kidney donation became minimally invasive with a procedure called laparoscopic nephrectomy, which only requires four small incisions. Hospital stay is typically only 3 days after this operation.
Not blood type compatible with your recipient to be a living donor? Kidney Paired Donation (the “kidney swap” program) enables incompatible candidates with a living donor to receive a kidney from a compatible donor.
Last year, over 700 living donor kidney transplants occurred using Kidney Paired Donation.
