I have kidney failure. When I was first diagnosed with Ig-A Nephropathy, I thought I had a long time before my kidneys start to fail. I saw how my kidney function started to decline further and further until I reach this point of needing a kidney transplant to survive. I used to be very active but since my kidneys started failing, I feel exhausted easily, even when doing simple things. I was surgically placed with a peritoneal catheter on my abdomen for dialysis until I get a kidney donor.
I chose to do peritoneal dialysis over hemodialysis, this will require me to be hooked up to a machine which will help me do the work my kidneys can no longer do. This will be done daily for about 9-12 hours, making it difficult and challenging to plan other things outside of work. I wish I had more time and energy to spend with my family.
I need a kidney transplant. However, the average wait time while on the deceased donor waitlist is 4-9 years. Living kidney donation is the best option to help get me off the waiting list and live a healthier life. That’s why I’m writing to all of you. I am in need of someone to donate a kidney to me. What most people don’t know is that you only need one kidney to live a healthy life! I would appreciate it if you would consider donating your kidney and/or sharing this post to get the word out for me. That would mean so much! Thank you all for your time.
