LIVING Kidney DONOR NEEDED

Time is precious, and with each passing day, I pray for the miracle of a selfless person who could give me the gift of more time with my family.

My name is Lindita. I am a devoted mother to two sons and a daughter, and I’ve been blessed with 35 years of marriage to my loving husband. For 27 years, I worked tirelessly in a factory, building a life for my family until my health began to falter two years ago. In 2017, I was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, a battle that has slowly reshaped my world. Today, I face my greatest challenge yet: finding a kidney donor to save my life.

Living with CKD has been a journey of resilience. I fought to keep working as long as I could, but my body could no longer keep up. Leaving my job was heartbreaking, not just for the loss of routine and not being able to see my friends every day, but for the strain it placed on my family. My husband and children have been my pillars, but the uncertainty of my health weighs heavily on us all. I want nothing more than to reclaim moments of joy with them—to watch my son walk down the aisle, to cheer on my other son when he graduates college, and to watch my daughter walk across the stage as she graduates high school. I want to be able to grow old alongside the man who has stood by me for three and a half decades. These milestones are my motivation to keep fighting.

Despite being on the transplant waiting list, the reality is that finding a match can take years, especially with my blood type (O+). A donor offers my best hope—a chance to bypass years of waiting and the grueling toll of dialysis. Time is precious, and with each passing day, I pray for the miracle of a selfless person who could give me the gift of more time with my family.

Asking for help isn’t easy. I’ve always been the one to care for others, not the other way around. Yet here I am, humbly reaching out. If you or someone you know might consider kidney donation—or even sharing my story—you could change the course of my family’s future. Your act of kindness would mean witnessing the moments I’ve dreamed of: a wedding, graduations, and the simple joy of being present for my loved ones.
To those who take the time to read this, thank you. Whether you share my story, get tested, or simply hold me in your thoughts, your support brings light to this difficult journey. With hope and gratitude,
Lindita
