Darius Bors Needs A LIVING Liver DONOR

Hello,
My name is Liz, and I am Darius's baby sister. Even though we are eight years apart, Darius never made me feel like a pestering little sister. Growing up, Darius took me skiing in Vermont and New Hampshire in the winters. Taught me how to fish, took me hiking, canoeing, and sailing on his sailboat in the summers. Darius was always very active growing up. He was constantly out on the ocean, sailing on his boat, something he loved more than anything. Darius served 20 years in the Coast Guard, where he assisted in saving many lives. Darius lived all over the world, including Guam, Hawaii, The American Virgin Islands, and both coasts of Florida. After leaving the Coast Guard, Darius remained very active. He started a new career in which he is a safety manager and is responsible for many employees. About a year and a half ago, Darius informed me that he has liver disease. Because of his illness, Darius has had a difficult time not only working but enjoying the things he loves very much, such as sailing on his sailboat. In attempts to help Darius, not only have I tried to be his living liver donor, my daughter has as well. Unfortunately, we were both denied for different reasons.

Because of Darius's liver disease, recently, he has had a hard time working and enjoying the things he loves most in life, such as helping others and sailing on his sailboat. Due to a recent hospital admission, Darius needs a liver transplant more than ever. Without a liver transplant, Darius's life will be cut short. Getting a liver transplant would mean that Darius could live a normal and healthy life late into his years.

I am writing to all of you because Darius needs someone to donate a part of their liver to him. A small portion of someone's liver is all it takes to save his life. The liver is an incredible organ and can regenerate within three months. Without a liver transplant, Darius does not have much time left to live. Every day is a struggle for him as fluid builds up in his abdomen and lungs, causing him discomfort along with many other symptoms.
I am asking all of you to look within your hearts and consider being a living liver donor for Darius. Without a liver transplant, Darius does not have much time left. Please help me help Darius by sharing this story. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a liver donor, or about starting the evaluation process, please look at his Transplant Center's website below.
Thank you for reading my story, and together we can help Darius.
Liz
