Joshua Dinnocenzi

LIVING Kidney DONOR NEEDED

#KidneyForJosh

My name is Joshua D’Innocenzi, but many know me by my radio name “Josh Michael”. I’m 40 years old, I absolutely love my job doing a morning radio show here in Asheville, NC, and I’m completely obsessed with anything and everything related to Helicopters and Philadelphia Eagles Football.
I was born with only one kidney and didn’t know it for the first 18 years of my life. That solitary kidney was damaged beyond repair from reflux and in 2006 I entered total kidney failure. In 2007 I was blessed with a Kidney from my little brother, Aaron! That kidney lasted 13 glorious years until High Blood pressure crept in. I’m now on year 5 of Dialysis an waiting for an O+ donor.

A transplant would be life altering to say the least. I’ve been at the same job for 20 years, and I’ve always been the team member that people could rely on. I always prided myself on stepping up, hard work never phased me. Now I’m restricted by my energy levels and by my dialysis schedule. I no longer have the energy for the numerous charity boards I’ve been on, or the countless community events that I’ve enjoyed emceeing for years.
A transplant would give me the chance to be the son, brother, uncle, and friend that I want to be.

I feel like my life has been on pause for the past 5 years. No major life accomplishments, no major changes at all really. It feels like I’m on auto-pilot till a new kidney comes, and then I can really spread my wings and fly!

I am currently searching for a Live Donor with O+ blood. I am active on the transplant list at Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte and UNC-Chapel Hill. My insurance will pay for all testing and if it’s a match they will pay for all surgery, travel, and recovery expenses. If you’re interested in what it takes to become a donor, I’d love to send you an information packet!
