Scott is my husband of 11 years. Scott has taught me how to camp and enjoy running. Several years ago, Scott challenged me to a 5K run...and as a lifelong sprinter, I have enjoyed running many 5K’s and a Triathlon. Scott an I enjoy cooking together, many of the same foods, and eating in a healthy Colorado way.
I respect Scott for his dedication to process and support of his close friends. He is an outreach specialist for Veterans experiencing homelessness and really knows how to meet their needs, rally his co-workers, and supply his clients with services as soon as possible. He is a diehard Colorado native. A person of 22 years of long term recovery and is a committed friend.
He is my best friend and partner.
Scott enjoys a very active life style and the depletion of his kidney function has cause some pressure and aches in his torso. His health is excellent and has not missed out on activities as of yet. A transplant for Scott would mean he could have consistent energy, continue an active lifestyle, enjoy all the foods he loves, and be a lifelong advocate for living donation and kidney transplant recipients.
For the last 10 yrs, Scott has been a part of an amazing community called The Phoenix. They are nationwide with chapters in about 20 cities, and based out of Boston. They rock climb, camp, do CrossFit, and support each other, men and women.
In 2021, a close friend of Scott’s became a perfect match. In fact he is one of his best friends, close in shape and age. This living donor was processed and accepted by the hospital. The transplant will take place Sept 27, 2021!
To have a close friend donate a kidney is awe inspiring, humbling, and a way to connect in a deeper way. Scott is overwhelmed with his friends generosity. And thankful.
