Hello,
My name is Jassen Strzynski, and I am hoping to find a kidney donor. Until a week before my daughter’s wedding this summer, I felt completely healthy. Then, almost overnight, everything changed. A rare autoimmune disorder attacked my kidneys so aggressively that I ended up in the ICU the day before the wedding—and just four days before my other daughter graduated from nursing school. I began dialysis immediately and spent nearly two months in the hospital. My son walked his sister down the aisle, and my dad stepped in for the father-daughter dance. The autoimmune condition is now under control and is not expected to return, but my kidneys cannot recover. Without a transplant, the fatigue and limitations of dialysis will keep me from the simple joys that define my life—fishing trips, trail hikes, spontaneous road trips, and cooking delicious dinners for my family.
Since August, I’ve been doing dialysis while working to stay strong for my family. Dialysis often leaves me exhausted and makes it hard to do the things I love. Through all of this, my wife—my best friend and partner in everything—has been by my side every step of the way. We’ve always done life together, from quiet mornings on the farm to long drives with no destination, and I dream of getting back to those moments with her.
I look forward to the day I can get my normal life back—the laughter in the car, the smell of dinner simmering, a quiet sunrise on the lake. After my transplant, I want to get back to the trails, back to the kitchen, and back to making memories with my family and the woman who has been my rock through it all.
I am on the waiting list for a kidney, but that process can take years. I am hoping to find a living donor to improve my health and quality of life much sooner. A living donor transplant would mean everything to me because it would give me the chance to reclaim the life I love and share more moments with the people who matter most. If you could help by getting tested or sharing this information with your friends, family, and community, I would be forever grateful.
Thank you sincerely,
Jassen Strzynski
