Scott has been a steadfast friend and adventure buddy to myself and my husband for over 6 years now. He has enhanced my life in countless ways and now sheds his light on my toddler son (who calls him Uncle ‘Correa!) From rock climbing to running and feasting, Scott brings dedication and vulnerable friendship.
Scott has certainly been impacted by his kidney failure in ways that I am sure I don’t fully understand. While he has been managing kidney disease, he has remained entrenched in our community and inspired his body to stay healthy. In that vein, he has committed to healing emotionally so when the perfect kidney arrives for him he will be wholly ready to engage in his life.
A transplant would mean that this young man is given the ability to live a long and well lived life. His service to our community would alone save hundreds of lives! For Scott, I believe this transplant would be an acknowledgment of his dedication to his wellness and community efforts. It means he gets to live, but it also means that our world honors his role in making our lives collectively more valuable.
Maybe you are like me and you are not a match for Scott, but you could be a match for someone who is waiting to be affirmed by the love and generosity of their community. You could be the one who pays forward all the beauty of life by donating! May your days be counted by the blessings you have received and are able to now give to others.
