David Klipstein

LIVING Kidney DONOR NEEDED

My name is David Klipstein, and I need a kidney donor.
I am currently in end stage renal failure. This means my kidneys do not work anymore.
I am 62 years old, single, never married and have no kids. I was in the building materials business for over 30 years. I am also a recovering alcoholic who has now been sober for over 14 years. Sobriety has given me a 2nd chance in life, and I hope I’m not pushing it to ask for a 3rd

Without a working kidney I need dialysis which is a process of cleaning the blood. It does what a normal kidney would do. I go 3 times a week for 3 to 4 hours at a time. This leaves me feeling sick with horrible headaches to the point that all I can do is lay down. I don’t see how I will be able to return to work. I don’t know what scares me more dialysis or dying!
My only chance to live and get back to life is a kidney transplant.

What most people don’t know is that you can live a healthy life with only one kidney.
With a living donor kidneys have a better chance of being accepted by the recipient's immune system. The kidney lasts longer: Living donor transplants last 15 to 20 years on average, compared to 10 to 15 years on average for deceased donor transplants. The average waiting time for a kidney from a diseased donation is anywhere from 3 to 8 years.
With a new kidney I will be able to get back to work and life.

It is very hard for me to ask for help, but I am asking now. I need someone to donate a kidney to me. I would be so grateful if you would consider donating to me. I know that's a lot to ask of anyone.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change. The courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Thank You for listening.
