Hi, I'm Brannon's mom Vanessa. From the day he was born (4-17-80) he held my heart in his hands. My first born, a beautiful and adorable baby that has grown into a wonderful young man. Brannon is very out going and he loves his family and his friends deeply. He loves life and I've watched him roll with every punch that this disease has thrown at him. What impresses me most about my son going through this illness, is how he encourages me. When he was diagnosed and immediately placed on dialysis, that was extremely hard for me to deal with, but I've watched him handle every setback, every surgery with such a positive attitude and that has allowed me to keep a positive attitude along with my deep faith and belief that God is going to see us through this.
He's been on dialysis for 3 years now and I see the toll it's taking on his body(weight loss, very low energy and food allergies). This disease makes it hard for him to enjoy spending time with family and friends. Travel has to be planned out with care and detail. It's a confining illness that's has taken away his spontaneity.
A transplant would mean freedom and a second chance at a normal life. The opportunity to not have to schedule every activity around dialysis treatments. To find work that is fulfilling and not work a graveyard shift (which he does) because of treatment times.
I'm asking that anyone who sees this and maybe interested in becoming a living donor or that you would share this with others, I and my family would be very grateful. I ask that if you believe in the power of prayer, please keep Brannon and our family in your prayers. Thank you and may God bless you.
