My name is Lyndon Scott Caviness and I have liver failure. I worked as a Senior Police Officer and loved my job serving others. I have battled with multiple medical issues over the years which has forces me to retire from a job I loved. About 3 years ago my life changed as I found out I had liver failure.
The liver failure has really caused lots of symptoms due to the liver not learning toxins from my body. My symptoms range from being lethargic, severe swelling of my feet, legs and belly. I will have terrible hepatic encephalopathy which causes great confusion, slurred speech, unstable coordination and falling. I have been hospitalized 3 times with encephalopathy once so severe that I had to be intubated due to being non-responsive. Having a living liver transplant would mean so much to my quality of life.
A transplant would mean a better quality. One free from the complications and symptoms that go along with liver disease. It would mean I could start participating in hobbies I enjoy again such as cooking, gardening, and volunteering with Mobile Meals on Wheels. Just being able to live each day with a liver that works and being free from the terrible symptoms.
I am taking a leap of faith and putting my story out there because I am in need of someone to donate part of their liver to me. Your liver has the awesome ability to regenerate. A healthy donor's liver will regrow in a few weeks. I would be able to regain my energy, drive a car again and take my wife to the beach. Spending time with friends will also be a great benefit as well. Please I am asking that if you find it in your heart to see if you would be a matchI would be grateful. If that is not your calling please share my story near and far in hopes someone will see it and be tested. Thanks for taking the time to read my story.
