LIVING Liver DONOR NEEDED

Become a part of my live donated liver transplant journey! Help spread the word! Be part of me regaining my quality of life!

I am Becky Myers. And I need a new liver or piece of one. I’ve been in liver failure for a few months. I’m disabled now, but I was an active participant in any community I lived in both where I live now in Maryland and before, in NC. I volunteered for local food pantries and soup kitchens. I am an active member of my church, serving on Altar Guild and Cemetery Committee, studying in Education for Ministry, helping with Family Dinners, and going to Bible Study. We serve the community’s hungry, homeless, low income elderly, and more.
I also enjoy volunteering at the animal shelter and for animal rescues and sanctuaries.

I’ve been diagnosed with autoimmune liver diseases for eight years now. I’ve been in liver failure for a few months. I’ve intermittently spent a week here and there in the hospital til I am well enough to go home to my furries and my friends and family. Now, I’ve been hospitalized for 25 days and counting.
I miss walking trails with my dog. Before I was ill, we hiked mountain trails galore. I also worked passionately as a veterinary technician. I’d like to be at the front desk of a clinic now, meeting customers and furry patients, helping them through a trauma or with bereavement.

Transplant would mean regaining my quality of life! It would mean hiking into a horizon sunset with my dog Bowie at my side. I played ultimate frisbee since college til 10 years ago. I would love to pick up a disc again and throw a little, play a little, teach youth the game. It would be amazing to eat without anti nausea meds on board or to the rescue after the fact.

Please consider being a live liver donor for me! Or you could match someone else registered on the list, and that person has a donor that matches me. You don’t have to necessarily match me to be the reason I get a live liver donor match. Just try! And share this story far and wide, to find that soul with the gift of live donation waiting inside them!! You can be part of my journey. Share my plea and my call!
