I have worked with Julie for the last 7 years and over that time we have become extremely close. Julie is such an inspiration because she has worked so hard to keep herself stable with her kidney disease by changing her diet and being healthier for the past few years. She stays positive and rooted in her faith.
After Julie’s kidney function dropped and she needed to start dialysis Her life changed dramatically. Yes, she is still able to work, however she needs to leave work promptly and head home every evening so that there is no delay in her beginning her 9-10 hour treatment thus enabling her to be on time for the next work day. She needs to make sure that she is close to her machine and that the area is very clean so once she goes home she pretty much stays in her bedroom for her dialysis. Since her dialysis requires so much time she has to be mindful even if she chooses to go out on weekend evening because she knows that she will be waiting longer the next morning to get up and about. Having a transplant would ultimately give Julie back her freedom and allow her to go back to enjoying her time as she chooses without having to constantly be thinking of her time constraints for her dialysis.
I want to help Julie find a living donor so that she can get back to being the best version of herself possible. I know that she has pain and discomfort throughout her dialysis and that it is time consuming for her as well. I want to help spread the word so that she and her wonderful husband Ephraim can go back to enjoying their free time as they want to without being tied to dialysis! Please help me share Julie’s story because I know that her donor is out there just waiting to hear this message!
