LIVING Kidney DONOR NEEDED

My kidney disease has had a signifiant impact on all areas of my life due to the limitations that dialysis has created. While I am still working full-time, I am no longer able to travel for work as I once did, as traveling requires significant planning and that is not possible with last minute travel requirements for work. This is also true for vacations as I am limited were we can go and types activities. I love to swim and go on cruises, but this has no been possible for several years as my dialysis catheter prevents me from swimming in public pools. This is also prevent me from hiking in the Smokey and Rocky Mountains.
My search for a live donor has become the next major step for us as my current kidney function nears the end and I must rely 100% on dialysis. I've been on the transplant list for 3 years now and the typical wait for a deceased donor is approx. 5 years. A live donor would not only be the greatest gift, but it would also significantly increase my outcome as it would be a much better match for my body.

Approx 13 years ago I was experiencing significant swelling in my legs. My nephrologist diagnosed me with End Stage Renal disease and was told that I would eventually need a transplant. A time has passed, my kidney function has declined and in 2016 I made the decision to get on the transplant list. At the end of 2016, my kidney function decreased even more and I made the decision to begin peritoneal dialysis. This was a wonderful Christmas present, haha.
I connect to my dialysis machine every night around 830pm and deal with the discomfort of having several liters of fluid in my abdomen all night while I try to sleep. While connected to the machine, I am confined to our bedroom with a 12 ft hose. I disconnect at 5am and get ready for work. This has been my routine for the past 3 years. Recently my residual kidney function has come to an end and I will need to increase my dialysis cycle time from 8 hours to 10 hours. This will significantly limit my daily activities as I now have less time to perform them.

The wait for the kidney transplant has been a challenge for me. The typical wait that I have been told is about 5 years. This wait time could be drastically reduced if I were able to locate an individual who was willing to donate one of their kidneys. A live donor would also significantly increase not only increase my life span, but also that of the organ. Words can not fully convey how great full I would be if a complete stranger would be willing to donate part of them to help me fulfill my own goals in life. Please share my need for a kidney with your friends and family. Thank you
