Gregory Mazzoni Needs A LIVING Kidney DONOR
Please help spread the word... live kidney donor needed!
Greg is my father-in-law and I have enjoyed spending time with him and mostly talking about the music he writes. He is very creative and loves to get lost in writing and singing. Music brings him great joy. He recently recorded an album and it is very good!!!!! When I first heard it I was really blown away. He put so much time and thought into each song and I am very impressed. I can't wait to hear the next one!
Kidney failure has affected Greg's life in so many ways. He no longer has the energy to do the things he loves and that makes me extremely sad for all of us. He is really looking forward to the future and a transplant would mean that he would have one.
I am helping my father-in-law Greg look for a living kidney donor. These days, it is all about connections, even subtle ones! If you have any connections that you think might help spread the word, I encourage to share this story! You never know if you or a loved one may some day need a program like this to help you so please help spread the word.

Share the Importance of Living Donation
There are currently 120,000 people waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant in the U.S. Of these, 100,000 await kidney transplants.
The median wait time for a kidney transplant is 3-5 years and can vary depending on health, compatibility, and where you live.
In 2014, 17,107 kidney transplants took place in the U.S. Of these, 11,570 came from deceased donors and 5,537 came from living donors.
Every 14 minutes someone is added to the kidney transplant waitlist.
A kidney from a living donor lasts longer and begins functioning more quickly than a kidney from a deceased donor.
In 1995, kidney donation became minimally invasive with a procedure called laparoscopic nephrectomy, which only requires four small incisions. Hospital stay is typically only 3 days after this operation.
Not blood type compatible with your recipient to be a living donor? Kidney Paired Donation (the “kidney swap” program) enables incompatible candidates with a living donor to receive a kidney from a compatible donor.
Last year, over 700 living donor kidney transplants occurred using Kidney Paired Donation.
