Mark Stainback

Please consider giving to me so that I can continue giving to others in need

My name is Mark Stainback. A lot of you know me as the guy that volunteers with Westside Project driving the big Penske truck distributing ugly food and passing out large boxes of food. I have worked with Westside Project for several years and helping people that are in need is my biggest passion. I have always been the person that will give his last dollar to help someone else. I have a love for people that comes directly from God. Now kidney failure has slowed me down. I have been diabetic for many years and even though I have tried to take care of myself it has taken its toll on my body. My kidneys have been declining for several years. The last few years I have been blessed to be part of a clinical research trial that has kept me off of dialysis however now that trial has ended. I have now started dialysis three times per week at a dialysis center.

Kidney failure has taken its toll on me. I get sick very easily whenever I eat. The fluid retention has been very severe to the point I can feel the skin around my feet and ankles stretching. It can be very painful and makes it hard to walk at times. My energy level has dropped drastically and I give out very easily. It is hard to walk for any distance without being out of breath. Because of this I have had to limit the amount of work I do with the ministry.

I am on the waiting list for a kidney however waiting for someone that is an organ donor to pass can take many years. I am trying to find someone that would be willing to donate one of their kidneys to me. The process is much easier than you would think. Please consider being a kidney donor so that I can continue with my passion of taking care of people in need. Thank you for your support as I am battling this life changing event.
