Julie and I have been friends for almost 3 decades. We met in college where we both played volleyball in the A&S team and we stayed together in the same dormitory for about 3-4 years.
Julie is full of life. She has the kindest heart and one of the most generous person I know.
My dearest friend is in desperate need of a kidney from a living donor. When she was placed on the list 3 years ago, I made her a promise that I would give her one of my kidneys. However, I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer last year and of course, a living donor with cancer cannot be a donor. She's going though a lot right now. She no longer has the same energy like she used to. There are so many things that she can no longer do now that she is on dialysis. She has her dialysis on a daily basis and goes to work on a full-time basis and this really takes a toll on her. Not just on her but on her husband as well.
According to her nephrologist, she has to find a living donor right away because the longer she is on dialysis, the greater the chance she will reject the transplant. A lot of people are not aware that we only need one kidney to survive, and being a living donor is like giving the gift of life.
We, her family and friends are in desperate need of your help in finding Julie a living donor. Please help us by sharing her story to your family and friends....help us find her a new kidney. Thank you and may God bless you.
