Daniel Nagel

LIVING Kidney DONOR NEEDED

To enjoy life with family and friends.

My name is Dan Nagel. I am soon be be 65 years. I enjoy being with my family (Wife- Barbara of 39 years; My three children, 2 sons in law, one child's significant other and 4 grandchildren I am a foodies that enjoys going out to restaurants. For relaxation I like to cook and play golf. I am also a die hard NY Giants fan for 39+ years of my life.

Mu kidneys started to really fail at eh beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. At that time I have had emergency dialysis. I have not been on dialysis since that time but my kidney disease. Has really affected my life. I had 2 very arthritic hips that need to be replaced. Because it was viewed that having hip replacement could accelerate me going on dialysis full time, the surgery was put off for 15 months. I was in great pain and unable to walk. After weighing all the risks and positives I had my right hip replaced in March 2024. The surgery went very well and I have recovered well.

A transplant would mean that I could live the rest of my life without being on dialysis. It would enable me to travel with my wife, family and friends during my retirement. In addition, I will be healthy enough to spend more time with my grandchilden.

I have come on to this website to share my story and find a living donor for a new kidney. Please feel free to share my story with others so that someone out there in the universe would consider a living donation of one of their kidneys to me. Even if I am not a recipient, there are many other on this website would like to get a kidney from a live donor. If someone can help another person on this site that would be terrific.
