LIVING Kidney DONOR NEEDED

Support Kyle Scriven: A Living Kidney Donor Could Change His Life Forever

My name is Kyle Scriven. I’m a lover of film, television, music, and sports — especially Arsenal FC. Born and raised in New Jersey, I’ve spent the last 24 years in the DC/MD/VA area, but I still proudly claim Jersey as home. As a first-generation American with roots in the Bahamas, I take deep pride in being a son, brother, husband, and uncle — roles that bring me joy and keep me grounded.

I was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2015. Over the years, I’ve worked hard to manage it, but my condition has continued to progress. I recently began peritoneal dialysis — a life-saving treatment I now do at home five nights a week. It had its early struggles, but I’m starting to get the hang of it. That said, it’s still pretty limiting. It affects my energy, my schedule, and the flexibility I once had in everyday life.

While dialysis helps keep me alive, it’s not a long-term solution. People on dialysis often face a shorter life expectancy, and without a transplant, I could be waiting 4–5 years for a deceased donor kidney. A living donor would not only shorten that wait — it would give me the chance to truly live again.

A transplant would free me from the physical and emotional toll of dialysis. It would allow me to be more present with my family, travel again, fully pursue my career, and one day, hopefully, become a parent.

A kidney transplant would be nothing short of life-changing. It would give me the chance to lead a healthier, more fulfilling life, free from the constraints that dialysis imposes. If you are open to the idea of becoming a living donor, please know that the process is confidential, and you will receive all the support you need throughout.

I humbly ask for your help—whether it’s considering becoming a donor yourself or simply sharing my story. The more people who see this, the better my chances of finding a match. Your kindness could give me the opportunity to continue enjoying the arts, cheering on my favorite sports teams, and creating lasting memories with my family. Thank you for your support—it truly means the world to me.
