Mina Salib

LIVING Kidney DONOR NEEDED

I was born with a condition called Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF), a genetic disorder . My whole life since birth I experience an episode which comes with fever, inflammation, severe pain and I can’t walk until the attack is over. Luckily they developed a biogenetic injection to control the disorder, but as a result of this disorder I developed Amyloidosis that impacted my kidney function which I have been dealing with for many years and led me to end-stage renal disease. FMF and ESRD are way too much to handle for a young person like me haven’t accomplished his dreams yet.

I am on dialysis 3 times a week for 12 hours. Dialysis changed my life, I can’t work, travel, visit my family overseas, doing my normal routine like walk for long distance, work out, or play soccer or squash which are my favorite sports. I am 39 but I feel old already since I can’t even participate in any physical activity.

Means a hope for a new life.

I need a kidney transplant. But the average wait time for a kidney transplant while on the deceased donor waiting list is 3-10 years. Living kidney donation is the best option to help me get off the waiting list and live a healthier life. That’s why I am writing to all of you. I am in need of someone to donate a kidney to me. What most people don’t know is that you only need one kidney to live a healthy life! I would appreciate it if you would consider donating your kidney and/or sharing this post to get the word out for me! That would mean so much! Thank you all for your time.
