Romany Habashy Needs A LIVING Kidney DONOR

Romany is my husband. We enjoy raising our little girl and spending time with her. We Love going to church and help our church. Romany is one Good example of an amazing husband and a Father. He loves to help in any way.

A new kidney transplant for my husband means the world for us. We just started a family. We have a little girl(11months old). We want to raised our daughter together. We want to give the Love and the best we can as a parent. As awife my life is incomplete without my husband. I loved him so much and I dont want him to see really down and in pain. I want him to live longer. He is in a waiting list for the deceased donor but it takes 3 to 5 years to find one and the best option is to have a kidney living donor. I am praying and hoping that someone can donate/give kidney or share our story. God has a plan to anyone of us. We believe that there are Good Samaritan out there who’s willing to give life to my husband. We appreciate and thankful for everything.

There are currently 120,000 people waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant in the U.S. Of these, 100,000 await kidney transplants.

The median wait time for a kidney transplant is 3-5 years and can vary depending on health, compatibility, and where you live.

In 2014, 17,107 kidney transplants took place in the U.S. Of these, 11,570 came from deceased donors and 5,537 came from living donors.

Every 14 minutes someone is added to the kidney transplant waitlist.

A kidney from a living donor lasts longer and begins functioning more quickly than a kidney from a deceased donor.

In 1995, kidney donation became minimally invasive with a procedure called laparoscopic nephrectomy, which only requires four small incisions. Hospital stay is typically only 3 days after this operation.

Not blood type compatible with your recipient to be a living donor? Kidney Paired Donation (the “kidney swap” program) enables incompatible candidates with a living donor to receive a kidney from a compatible donor.

Last year, over 700 living donor kidney transplants occurred using Kidney Paired Donation.
