LIVING Kidney DONOR NEEDED

KIDNEY NEEDED 🩸TYPE: A+

Hey my name is Kwame’ McNeill. On February of 2017, I experienced a big life change to my health and lifestyle. I was diagnosed with CKD better known as Chronic Kidney Disease. When I first got the news I was very confused, I thought my life was practically over hearing that news. I didn’t know much about CKD at first. Till this day it’s still a learning process because your body changes and it’s something that takes time adjusting to. At my age it can be very overwhelming at times. But you can’t let it put you in a depressed state it’s not healthy at all, have to make the best of it.

The way kidney failure affects my life, it has been a big lifestyle change. Being tired after treatments for hours or even all day, is one thing I hate I feel like sometimes I could be doing something other than laying down but my body just don’t have the energy. I still do plenty of my normal activities like working out, hiking, hanging with friends, going out etc. I’ve had to make different several lifestyle changes. I loved drinking water and that has became a enemy having kidney failure. Consuming to much water can decrease your chances of going into fluid overload. Getting a transplant would mean a lot to me, I've been waiting for sometime now for a kidney to become available to me. I recently got accepted to be on the kidney transplant list at UNC CHAPEL HILL this year in February now it’s just been a waiting game at this time.

If I were to receive an living donors kidney, it would speed the process up. if someone was to come forward to give a kidney to me it would be greatly appreciated. Which would mean No more dialysis! I just want my life back to normal and hope there is someone looking to be a candidate and be big help to my life.
