Living Kidney Donor Needed

I am writing this on behalf of Frank. Frank is currently battling Stage 4 kidney disease, a condition that is increasingly affecting his daily life. While he remains in remarkably good health overall, the fatigue and general feeling of illness that accompany kidney failure are making it more difficult for him to continue doing the things he loves most.

For more than 50 years, Frank has dedicated his life to educating others. A proud graduate of Wayne State University, he earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Economics, followed by a Ph.D. in Evaluation and Research. Throughout his career, he worked as a statistician for numerous organizations, helping businesses make informed decisions through data and analysis.

Today, Frank is semi-retired but continues to teach statistics as an adjunct instructor at Wayne State University. Over the course of five decades in the classroom, he has taught thousands of students. His passion for teaching has never faded. He genuinely cares about his students, enjoys helping them succeed, and would love to continue sharing his knowledge for years to come.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Frank is a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He and his wife have been married for 56 years and have built a loving family that includes three children and several grandchildren. Family is at the center of Frank's life. Grandpa Frank if definitely a fan favorite in his grandchildren’s life! These everyday moments of love and connection mean the world to Frank and his family. Frank also enjoys traveling and creating memories with those he loves. Unfortunately, kidney disease has increasingly limited his ability to do these things. The exhaustion and physical challenges of declining kidney function are making it harder to enjoy the active, engaged life he has always lived.

Frank is seeking a kidney donor. While both living and deceased donor kidneys can provide life-changing benefits, living donor kidneys often begin functioning immediately after transplant and generally have better long-term success rates. Because Frank's children are at elevated medical risk due to an inherited clotting disorder, they are not considered appropriate donor candidates. Therefore, an external living donor is being sought. Any assistance in sharing this need and identifying potential donors would be greatly appreciated. A kidney donation would not simply extend Frank's life—it would improve the quality of that life. It would help him continue teaching, spending precious time with his family, traveling with his family, and being the grandfather his grandchildren adore.
