LIVING Kidney DONOR NEEDED

Check out my journey

Hello,
My name is James Ramon, and I am hoping to find a kidney donor.

Chronic kidney disease is a problem that I have been dealing with for the past 30 years. Unfortunately, over time my kidney disease has continued to progress to the extent that I will need a kidney transplant. The effects and treatments required to combat it has been constant stress on my mind, body, and soul.

I recently started dialysis, 06/24/2021; between the consistent, frequent doctor visits, plus ER visit, my health has been declining over the year.

Sometimes, I think of my younger days when I was healthy; I begin playing drums probably at 1, then over the years progress, by the time I was eight years old, my older brother Joe and I formed the "Mondo Cane" band. I played drums, and my older brother played bass guitar and we already started performing on stage. By the time of the age of 12, I was tall for a 12-year-old boy, and the required age to play in a bar was 15, and I looked 15, I passed. We played 50 & 60's music, top 80's and 90's dance music.

Our band also played with the local radio circuit with WRIF, Honey Radio; We played all the local bars, festivals, and dances all over Michigan. Including midnight cruises on Bob-lo boat. Our band also volunteers at many charity dances for people living with cancer or other fundraising benefits. I was at the prime of my life, living my dream as a successful and professional musician and singer.

But, it all came crashing down when I found out I had Lupus at the age of 23 and then a few years later, a massive stroke. My right arm was not moving; it was paralyzed. And I could not walk, talk, nor stand or sit up. Nor could I speak or sing.

But, I moved past my handicap and kept pushing forward to walk, talk, and played drums again. Even though I am not how I was, it is still a challenge. I currently play at church, once a week. But, with having Lupus, part of the disease is kidney failure. I am so tired all the time. I can never have quality time to spend with my family or do many of the other activities I enjoy such as camping, hiking, riding my bike, and traveling.

I try to stay positive and look forward to better days. It would be a blessing to be able to have a new kidney. And if so, it would be great to spend time with my family, playing my drums, ride my bike, or camping without being so tired out. To go out and enjoy life to the fullest.

I am on the waiting list for a kidney; however, that can often take years to get a match. I hope to find a living donor because this would benefit my health, less worry and stress.

I would be grateful if you could help me find a match by getting tested or sharing this information with your network of friends, family, and community.

Kind Regards,
James Ramon
