Daniella Duke Needs A LIVING Kidney DONOR

Daniella needs a living kidney donor

Daniella and I have been married for 26 years. She has always had kidney disease, yet she's never let it get in the way of living her life. She is the hardest working person I know, and even with kidney disease and a kidney transplant, she's been a great Mom, full-time local doctor, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. After her first transplant, she only took 6 weeks off, and then was back at work, back to taking the kids to the bus, and enjoying cooking dinners again! She is caring, dedicated, and loves helping others.

Over the past three years, Daniella's kidney transplant has been not working as well, and now it has pretty much stopped working -- so much so that she now needs a new kidney, or she'll need to start dialysis. She had to stop working, slowed down a lot, and is always tired. She still has a very positive outlook and stays busy - but she gets tired when she tries to do alot of the active things that she enjoys. I remember she was the same before her first transplant, and then after the transplant, she immediately had so much more energy, and could do resume many more activities. She could lead a normal life.

One of Daniella's sisters was her living donor for her first kidney; her other sister cannot be a donor. And I always wanted to be Daniella's kidney donor, but I just learned that I will not be able to be her donor -- and I'm crushed, as I would do anything for her. So now I'm trying to help her find a living kidney donor.
